If change is the only constant, an individual must be ever evolving and dynamic. What better way to bring that change in you than to have a journey of small and big learnings. When I look back at this journey called life, I realize that the learnings came from many teachers.
The dictionary defines ‘teacher’ as a noun – meaning, a person who teaches. Wikipedia spells it out more elaborately – “A teacher is a person who helps others to acquire knowledge, competences or values. Informally, the role of a teacher maybe taken on by anyone.”
When Teacher Plus approached me for a contribution for the September issue on ‘teachers recalling important life lessons learnt from their teachers’, I readily jumped at the offer! What a platform I thought, to express my gratitude towards my teachers, a realization that has only evolved and grown stronger with time.
Sitting by my window, I reminisce about the years gone by and feel truly blessed and lucky to have had wonderful teachers at different stages of my life. I recall this quote by US lawyer and politician Brad Henry, “A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination and instill a love of learning”.
