Paper folding amusements

Paper is one of the most common things you find in a classroom and of course it is the most used. However, here we are exploring ‘other’ uses of paper in geometry.

A. Equilateral triangle
You can create an equilateral triangle by folding a paper circle as shown.
Equilateral-triangle

  • Cut out a paper circle.
  • Fold one edge to its centre.
  • Continue to fold twice more along chords of the circle as indicated.
  • Cut out along the chords to obtain an equilateral triangle.
